CASEMENT WINDOWS. Aluminium casement windows offer endless style and design options, they are suited to every Home from the 1920's onwards and with the flexibility of being able to incoporate a timber sub-frame, they provide a diversity of character and charm. We can specify aluminium casements in direct-fix (no timber surround) or sub-frame fix (with timber surround) and by use of the special RAL colouring process you can choose any colour finish or select from the standard range of white, brown, black or silver, all windows are fully double glazed with soft-coated, argon filled, 28mm sealed units and fitted as standard with a shoot-bolt locking mechanism. Aluminium casements can be specified in all situations for window use and are particularly benficial when a slim sight-line is required. Many Homes were originally built with Equal-Sight-Lines to all their windows and this is a feature that most of our customers try to retain, the benefit of an aluminium window is its slim sight-line which ranges from a maximum of 130mm to a minimum of 110mm, PVC is 164mm for an equal-sight-line and this averages out to a glass loss of 2 inches per glazed section and some windows have 3 or 4 sections to their width, these are facts that we always make our Customers aware of. Their are literally thousands of Homes in our catchment area that currently have existing CRITTAL windows and it is a great shame to see these windows replaced with a PVC system that is bulky and very obtrusive for this style of property, aluminium casements offer the perfect solution and we are now even able to produce a steel lookalike window in aluminium and it is one of the first metal double glazed windows to have an "A" energy rating for energy efficiency. A full range of glass finishes is available, including leaded lights, coloured lead, cavity glazing bars, soild glazing bars and patterned glasses, handles can be specified in a standard ergonomic design or we offer an upgrade to a period monkey-tail handle. The windows are all fully guaranteed for ten years and all products and installations are FENSA certified for Building Regulations. |
