Aluminium windows and doors are often overlooked or forgotten as a realistic product for domestic Homes and many consumers wrongly perceive Aluminium to be an outdated material choice for use in a replacement window and door project. In fact aluminium has very probably evolved as much as timber and by constant development we are now able to offer a very extensive range of aluminium windows and doors suited to almost any type of property.

Primarily aluminium is available in two construction formats, direct-fixed frames and sub-frame fixed frames. Direct-fixed frames are as they state, fitted directly into the opening and brickwork in the same way as a modern PVC frame and this system is totally maintenance free, it also provides a very slim frame thickness which maximises the size of the glass area within each window. This type of frame is particularly suited to modern architectural Homes, Art Decco Homes and more commonly where the windows being replaced are pre or post war CRITTAL steel frames, in fact we can offer a fully double glazed crittal reproduction window in aluminium and it is one of the first metal double glazed windows to have an Energy Rating "A".

Sub-frame fixed frames are aluminium windows and doors installed with a timber sub-frame, suitably hardwood or oak, this option is very useful for a mock style Home or where the need for a contrasting colour or surround is need to the inside or outside of the project, examples of this need would exist where you have timber boarding to a Home in black, render in white which may well require a white aluminium window set into a hardwood frame, stained in ebony black to the outside and left in a natural mahogany finish to the inside. Aluminium and timber are two excellent materials and this combination used in a domestic situation provides a very durable finish with very low maintenance.

Aluminium windows and doors are all fully double glazed and fully draught-proof, all frames are thermally insulated and POLYAMIDE frames now offer a fully insulated frame core between the inner and outer surfaces of the aluminium. We can specify standard and non-standard colours and the windows and doors can be produced with leaded lights, glazing bars, special glass finishes and micro-venetain blinds within the double glazed sealed units.
