SECONDARY GLAZING. Secondary glazing is a product in high demand and stands firmly as an original glazing icon. Developed for use in the early 1960's it has stood the test of time and we still specify this product for new Homes, listed buildings, conservation areas and any domestic installation where period or character windows exist. The benefits of secondary glazing are numerous but the single most important feature of this product is being able to enjoy all the comforts of modern double glazing without the need to remove your existing windows, we often meet potential customers who have existing windows in excellent condition but are in need of draught or sound insulation, they inform us that they have no other option but to replace their windows and no other solution has been offered.
This is a great shame that so few companies offer secondary glazing as a product option, well CJS Exteriors do and we truly believe in its benefits, it provides excellent heat insulation, total draught-proofing, increased security and sound insulation better than conventional double glazing, we can specify windows in vertical sliding designs to be installed over original sash windows, horizontal sliding designs to suit casement windows and hinged or lift-out designs to suit any variety of openings. We can produce this product in any RAL or BS colour, the standard colour finish is white or brown aluminium with a tulipwood surround frame, all surround frames are trimmed in either PVC or softwood, all trims are white or brown unless a special colour is selected, CJS offer a full range of glasses to meet our customers requirements including 4mm, 6mm, 6.4mm, 6.8mm, 11.3mm and 11.5mm these are all produced in either Annealed glass, Toughened glass, Laminated glass or Stadip silence glass. Installation of secondary glazing is very neat with no disturbence and it can be undertaken at any time of the year, no matter what the weather is like, all installations are conducted by CJS Exteriors own craftsmen and the product and installation are guaranteed for 10 years.
